Weekend Happenings...

We are getting closer and closer to Christmas and when this weekend maybe should have been spent doing some of the last minute Christmas shopping, it was spent with the kids.

Jaret and his school basketball team played in their first tournament. It was a little deflating for them. They are a Grade 7 team who played against Grade 7/8 teams that were made up mostly of 8's. In each game, they were blown away but still showed good sportsmanship. I loved watching Jaret play and seeing how much more competitive he has become. He slipped on the court a few times though so may need to look at some court shoes.

Saturday evening the Advent Calendar activity was Family Game Night so the kids and I played a couple of board games while watching Elf. Sunday morning we went to church for the Christmas play - Christmas Letters and then enjoyed brunch out with friends. Kirra hosted the Annual Gingerbread Decorating Party on Sunday afternoon - one of her many favourite traditions.  She was so excited about the party as she loves having friends over and really loves when that can be combined with candy! They had so much fun decorating! As they grow, I love seeing how creative they are and how much more they can do on their own without as much help on their houses. Jaret, being a teenager now, decided he would like to have a friend over to hang out - not to decorate a gingerbread house this year.
