God loved us so unconditionally that He sent His one and only son to suffer on the cross. It was indeed Earth's saddest day. But as Christians, we celebrate the day that came only three days later when Jesus rose again.
What a sacrifice! While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
What a gift! A gift so freely given for the forgiveness of all our sins.
What hope! Hope we are blessed with knowing that God has an amazing plan for our lives.
What grace! Such grace the Father has lavished on us.
Friday brought death and darkness but Sunday brought life eternal and light to the world! And isn't that something to be embraced and celebrated?
He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
This Easter weekend we spent with Terry's brother, Kim, wife Jackie, and their daughter Alysha. As they didn't arrive until Friday evening, we hit the slopes for some skiing. The weather was great, and so was the snow. Jaret was thrilled because he got to ski with his science teacher. We skied as a family that day and Kirra didn't take lessons. She has seen such improvement and often will ski right past us and yell, "Coming through!" In fact, on Friday she even did her first Black Diamond and she was so pleased with this accomplishment.
Saturday was also a ski day and aside from skiing with Terry's family, Jaret was excited that he got to ski with Mr. Anger (our Head of School). It had been quite a few years since Terry's family had skied but it didn't take long for it to come back to them. It was a tough day with the cold, wind, and lack of visibility. But, the snow was great and we had fun!
Sunday we attended church and while I was getting brunch ready, the kids did their Easter egg hunt. Sunday afternoon was relaxing while some watched some baseball and a couple of us napped. The kids coloured Easter eggs and we had a nice Easter meal. After supper we celebrated Alysha's birthday with candles, cake, and singing.
The weekend went by quickly. Terry was back to work on Monday and our company left. The kids and I had a pj day and took it easy, enjoying the extra day off. We hope that each of you had a blessed Easter and reflected on the amazing sacrifice of our Lord and Saviour! Happy Easter!
