Weekend

Jaret and Terry jetted off to Seattle for the weekend for some ball games while Kirra and I spent some quality girl time.  Love this time together with Kirra.  The weekend went by so quickly.  Kirra said her favourite part of the weekend was shopping at American Girl and movie night with just the two of us.  I really enjoyed just how relaxed the weekend was.

Shopping at American Girl with a lunch date at the Calgary Farmer's Market to follow.

The list of "stations" Kirra had planned for her play date with her bestie.  Of course she told me that she would let Kaycee choose the order since she is the guest.

They needed swimsuits on as they were playing house and it was time to go swimming.  And by swimming I mean that they were having the American Girls jump off the ottomans in the bonus room onto the carpet that was the swimming pool below.

I think they got almost everything checked off the list.  Kirra doesn't remind you of anyone with her lists, does she?

Jaret dreams of playing in the Big Leagues one day.  What little boy doesn't?  He loved the weekend away with Dad to Seattle last year and so was really excited to do it again this year.  In fact, he found it hard to fall asleep the couple nights leading up to the trip because he was so excited.  He was responsible in telling his teacher that he would be absent from school on Monday because of the trip and told her details that he even needed to get up at 3:35 in the morning on Saturday to get to the airport.  He was counting down to the trip and counting down how few days of school he would have left upon returning.

Terry and Jaret flew out early Saturday morning.  They were able to check into their hotel and have a nap which was much needed as the Saturday game was a night game.  It would be a late night, considering the early morning and the one hour time change.  During the day the boys decided to take a tour of Safeco Field.

On the field...

Checking out the Broadcast Booth.

Hanging out in the M's dugout and taking it all  in.

Throwing some practice pitches.  Speed of 36 miles/hr.

Getting ready to watch the Sunday afternoon ball game.

Jaret called into action when Seth Smith (one of my favs) twisted his ankle.
"Jaret Lockhart makes a great play in right field to rob Adrian Beltre of a home run.  Nicely executed play."

Jaret would say, aside from the pedicabs they took when too tired to walk, the games were a highlight.  The M's have been doing so well but unfortunately couldn't pull off a win for the two games Terry and Jaret were at.  It was a great weekend for the boys as they spent lots of quality time together - memories made!
