Jaret had a fun season of ball and stayed positive, even when it was hard. They didn't win many games but Jaret played with heart and he developed his skills over the season. He has become quite the little pitcher. He has developed a better stance at the plate and follows through on his swing. However, it seems that the kids get a little nervous during games and don't hit like they do when they are just practicing.
Jaret has learned about good sportsmanship, especially when they have played against some teams that don't always show that same sportsmanship. Jaret says his highlight was when he got hits that got him on base. He also really liked pitching, especially when he pitched strikes to get players out. Jaret thought it was great that his dad could coach again this year and be there for every game. Due to the fact that his games fell on Tuesday and Thursday nights, meant that Kirra and I couldn't be at the games as often because I was coaching Kirra's soccer team on the same nights. We did manage to make it to a couple games, including one last night and one today as the teams were in a tournament. Jaret loves baseball so much that even when he isn't playing, he is talking about it, watching it through MLB.tv and currently he and Kirra are watching "Everyone's Hero." It is such a cute, animated movie about a boy, named Yankee, who helps to return Babe Ruth's stolen bat to him during a slump in the World Series. Jaret would love to become a major league baseball player - such a dream - to so many little boys.
