On Broadway

Tonight at the school was On Broadway.  Carnegie Hall had the students performing dance and musical numbers.  And The Met had students artwork on display.  There was also a section for some science experiments.  Street vendors were selling popcorn, ice cream treats, and cotton candy.  The projects are completed at home and Jaret worked on his two pieces over Spring Break.  It was a fun evening for the kids!  Jaret was so proud of his work but then as he was watching the acts on stage asked if he had any stage type talent.  It made my heart sad the way he asked it but also surprised me because when he was younger he didn't like being up on stage at all.  This year though, I have seen his confidence grow after being part of the school choir and having read his poem at the poetry reading.  It is exciting seeing your children grow and seeing them develop their talents.

"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." ~1 Peter 4:10

"You are a manager of the gifts God has given to you.  They may be great or small in your eyes, but they matter to God.  'Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.'" ~1 Corinthians 4:2
