A Birthday Party Fit For A Princess

Kirra had been counting down the days to her birthday, because remember kids still do that when they are little?  Not like us adults who are fine with just skipping over the day as we get older.  After her actual birthday she was counting down the days to her party.  She was so excited to have some of her little friends over for a Sofia the First Birthday Themed Party.

When her friends got here, the first thing we did was take a picture of her with each of them.  These were downloaded and sent right away to Walmart for printing so they could be added to the craft we made - Princess Picture Frames.  When they were finished they got to do some colouring before game time where we played, "Pin the Amulet on Sofia."  Whoever got closet got to choose the first Sofia tattoo.  The kids had a little play time before snacks and birthday cake.  But they took quite awhile to eat so there wasn't time to open presents before the parents arrived.  It was only a two hour party but it was amazing how tired I felt by the end of it.  It was all worth it though.  Kirra had fun and I think her friends did too as some of them didn't want to leave.  So grateful that we could celebrate Kirra's fifth birthday with some of her friends from school and the neighbourhood.

The weekend seemed to fly by quickly.  I was glad my parents could be here.  They were here for the chaos of the fifth birthday party with 8 little princesses.  Mom loved when I took a picture of all the girls before they left and when I said, "Pose like a princess," they all posed like the little princesses that they are.  Adorable.  We had a relaxing evening after a yummy steak supper and once the kids were asleep.  Before my parents left, Mom and Terry taught Jaret how to play Backgammon and now he is hooked.  He even had his friend from next door over after my parents left to teach him how to play.  It was fun watching them battle it out.  That evening we were invited out to Terry's parents for supper.  We enjoyed an evening visiting with them and Kim and Jackie to finish off the weekend.  A great weekend but it went by all too quickly.
