Transition

The last few weeks have been so very hectic and full of transition.  However, through it all, we have been blessed by dear friends and family and are so grateful for the relationships in our life.  Where to even start...
After we returned from holidays in SK, the organizing for the move began.  While we started in on this, we made a decision to have packers come in and pack for us.  What a treat that was!  One day and they had the house packed up and the next they packed it all on the truck.  Some issues were encountered with this as we had too much stuff for the truck and the moving company had to come back the following day with a van.
During our last couple of weeks in Calgary, we wanted to ensure that we connected with friends so made arrangements for the kids to have some play dates and I got together with some friends as well.  Mark, Shea, and the boys were also in Calgary so we had some play dates with them and even enjoyed a day out in Banff for the day.  We had some rain while in Banff but despite the rain, we enjoyed the day and the company.  It was hard to say good bye to our many dear friends but we don't see it as good bye, simply a see you again soon.
After leaving Calgary, the work began as we moved into our new house and began the process of making it home.  We were thrilled that within the first hour of us moving in, Jaret and Kirra were outside playing with their new friends in the neighbourhood.  There are a number of kids around Jaret's age and some wonderful families.  Seeing both the kids play with their new friends was a huge relief to me and made my heart smile.  So thankful for the beginning of new friendships.
We have moved enough times now so you would think I have it down to a science but I always forget how much work it is.  Moving into this house, there was some cleaning to be done which was a disappointment.  However, bit by bit, the cleaning, unpacking, and settling got done.  It was only a matter of days when we had curtains hung in the bedrooms and pictures hung around the house.  The kids have a little play area under the stairs and they absolutely love it.  They call it "Kids Club" and tell us adults aren't allowed.
Despite how busy we have been, we have tried to take time out for the kids - taking them to spray parks and hanging out with friends.  Jaret and Kirra were both excited to spend an afternoon at Kelli's house with Peyton and Presley.  And we already had a nice evening visiting with Sean and Ruth and the kid's as we had supper at their house.  It was priceless seeing the boys on the swings in their superhero costumes - so should have gotten a picture of that.  We are blessed by our friends and thankful for how they have reached out to help us feel at home again.
Terry's parents have helped with the kids and also around the house from unpacking, to installing a central vac and building shelving in the garage.  The kids are grateful to live closer to grandparents. Just a couple hours drive to Regina which makes it easy to zip up for a weekend.
So, all is good on this end as we continue to make Saskatoon home.  We are trusting God in the path he has directed us down during this season of our life.  We look forward to reconnecting with people and hope that if you are ever through Saskatoon you will come and visit.  We would love to have you visit - our door is always open...
Pics of get togethers with friends before leaving Calgary.  Pics of the house to follow soon.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."  Jeremiah 29:11-13
