Another Halloween has come and gone. Kirra was excited that she could wear her owl costume to dance class yesterday, the dayhome today for a party, Halloween tonight, and she will get to wear it for her Noah's Ark party at pre-school tomorrow. She has started at a new dayhome and she is really enjoying it. It was special having a Halloween party there today. Jaret was feeling that life was a little unfair since he doesn't get to wear his dinosaur costume as much as Kirra. He does have a birthday party at the zoo on Saturday afternoon though where they can wear a costume so that made him a little happier.
As per usual, we attended the family carnival at the church tonight. The kids always enjoy all the fun and games. There were a number of bounce houses and so many great games. Jaret loved the sports games where you had to try to make a slapshot or throw the football through the targets. Kirra was a little reserved with the games and I thought she would be on the first bouncer Jaret wanted to go on. It was a steep climb and then a long slide down. But she cruised right up and had fun sliding down. I love seeing the joy on their face when they are doing such fun things. And I was so proud of them both today. Kirra shared a treat bag with her brother who was again mentioning the fact, "No fair that Kirra...", you get the idea. She showed such love and consideration for Jaret. And then both of the kids as we waited in the lines at the church for games and both kids showed patience and good manners after getting a treat at each station. Moments like that make me feel even more blessed and know that I am on the right track as a mom.
Happy Halloween!
