We spent a laid back weekend. Friday morning, Terry spent some time with the kids while I went to the gym for a workout. After lunch on the deck, in the sunshine, we decided to take the kids to Riley Park to splash in the paddling pool. By the time we got there, it wasn't as hot and sunny as we would have liked; but even though it was a bit cool, the kids still had fun! Friday night, Terry hung out with his friend Trevor while I had a quiet night to myself, once the kids were in bed.
Saturday was a beautiful day and we enjoyed breakfast on the deck. The kids love eating on the deck and especially like when people walk on the path below so they can yell "Hello" to them and then wait for a response. Being such a nice day, we decided to spend some time at Prince's Island Park. Jaret and Kirra had fun playing at the park. We then ended it off with a walk around the park (Jaret on his bike), ice cream, and watching a street performer do a magic show. He was actually really good and Jaret was amazed by some of his tricks. Another quiet evening with just lazing around and taking it easy. A highlight that night though was "chatting" with my girlfriend, Lara-Lyn who lives in Australia. So amazing, we were chatting on facebook - me sitting on my couch in Calgary and she was traveling from Brisbane to Sydney on a road trip and chatting via her iphone. How cool is that?
Sunday we ran a few errands and then enjoyed a bbq over at Mark and Shea's house. It was a fun evening and as usual, the food and wine was wonderful and the company was too! Jaret and McKinley had fun playing outside but had to be reminded a few times to stay out of the water. Just something about kids and water?! Kirra and Ev also had a chance to play outside and they all did well playing together, and didn't get into too much trouble. I hadn't taken pictures of all of the kids in a while so took a few today, at the expense of being teased - something I have just gotten used to. LOL!
Hope you all enjoyed your long weekend! Terry's Mom arrives tomorrow and I am off to San Fran on Wednesday for Hoopla with Stella & Dot. I am very excited! There will be a post dedicated to all things Stella & Dot when I return home.
