Wednesday night I met with a number of stylists and we went to a posh vegean restaurant - Millennium. It was my first time being to a vegan restaurant. It was a good experience but I don't think I will be turning vegan anytime soon. Hoopla kicked off on Thursday afternoon with the Fashion Show launching the new Fall Collection. What a fabulous experience that was! After the Fashion Show, we got to browse the jewelry in a conference room - pick it up, look at it, and try it on. Love some of the new pieces and then there are others that are a little too edgy for me but very trend setting.
Thursday night I had the most scary cab drive of my life. Myself, along with three other girls needed to catch a cab to the pier for a cruise. Well, we definitely picked the wrong cab because he did not really know where to take us and then when we were frustrated, he got more frustrated and drove even faster. We finally asked him to just let us out of his cab as we were concerned for our safety, after he had been honked at and sworn at by many other drivers around him. He let us off and then we had quite the adventure finding another cab and getting to the cruise ship. It seems comical now but was not at the time. The cruise around the bay was awesome - although choppy (so grateful for my seabands to avoid nausea) and foggy. We saw Alcatraz and AT & T Field where a ball game was in progress. After the cruise, we took a pedicab back to the hotel which was fun.
Friday we spent the morning learning more about the pieces in the new fall collection and hearing some stories from some amazing women in the business. It was inspiring and motivating. That afternoon we spent time in training to help build our business. Friday night was the Red Shoe Affair. I worked so hard for this and was thrilled to be putting on my red shoes to head to the party. Sipped some Stellatini's and danced. Afterward I went and changed and headed out with a couple of my stylist friends to a little restaurant where we spent the whole evening just chatting.
Saturday we had more training and ended Hoopla with the Gala. It was amazing celebrating so many women and their accomplishments! The dinner was delicious and we danced the night away. Pure exhaustion and yet so exhilarating! Sunday, we packed up and headed to the airport to fly home. I can't wait for Hoopla again next year!
*Note still waiting to add a few pics with our CEO (Jessica Herrin) and Chief Creative Designer (Blythe Harris).
