Since I last blogged, this is what has been going on around our house:
Terry has been busy with work - is there ever a down time for him? Doesn't seem to be, he seems to be constantly moving from one project to another.
I have been busy with teaching. Although just half-time, I don't think half-time exists for a teacher. There is always work to do outside of teaching; whether it is planning, marking, or recently - report cards. Stella & Dot has been slow for Trunk Shows but it is about to pick up with a number of shows planned for April, which has me excited!
And the kids keep us busy. Some days it means doing nothing at all but sitting on the floor and playing or other days, being out and about on playdates. We have also recently had a couple of birthday parties. Sophie (Steve & Natalie's daughter) turned four and celebrated her special day at Calgary Gymnastics. The kids had a great time! And Everett (Mark & Shea's little guy) turned one. Jaret and Kirra have playdates there often - this one was just more fun with new toys and lots of delicious food! Kirra has been battling a cold for quite some time but I think we are turning the corner now.
Family Day Long Weekend seems so long ago but we enjoyed spending time with Mike & Monica and their family. We met up to go swimming at Westside Rec Centre. It is such a nice facility. Mike, Monica, Terry, and I even got to relax in the pool while Erika swam with Jaret (while we kept an eye on them) and Lexi had Kirra in the Kiddie Pool. It was such a treat!
This past week Terry and I had our 11th anniversary. We enjoyed a meal out at The Keg, without the kids. We had plans to take them but then our friend, Monica caught me at the school and insisted that we leave the kids with them for the evening. Jaret was so excited and Lexi, Erika, and Brett seemed just as excited to have them at their place. The cutest was when we were leaving and Kirra was giving hugs and kisses. She gave everyone hugs and kisses but kept going back to Brett for kisses. It was too cute! I think she is in love with an older boy. But, she is now not allowed to kiss another until she is 25!
I am including a video of Kirra walking down the stairs. I enjoy celebrating these firsts. Right after she walked down the stairs for the first time, I started cheering and then picked her up and swung her in the air with tears in my eyes. It is great being a Mom! There is no job in the world better!
