Tea Party Anyone?

Jaret is a wonderful big brother. Some of the things that come out of his mouth just melt my heart. Like the other day when he was telling me how he needs to remember to do the right thing. When I asked him why he explained that Kirra is always watching him and learning from him so he needs to do the right thing to teach her the right thing in everything.
Today he decided it was important to spend time playing with Kirra while I got lunch ready. They were having a tea party together. The tea - cheerios! I am including a video of this.
Another cute thing that Jaret said (he does a lot of talking - not sure where he gets that from?!), "Mom, I wish that today was Yes Day!"
"What do you mean, Buddy? I have never heard of Yes Day."
"Well, Yes Day is when you say yes to whatever I say or want."
"Oh, I see. Well, what would you want me to say yes to?"
"Like you know, if I wanted to have a backwards supper."
"Yeah, I never should have introduced you to dessert first and supper next."
"Or like when I want ice cream and you have to say yes."
"We let you have ice cream."
"I know but I mean ice cream with pickles."
"With pickles? You don't even like pickles. And besides, do you think that ice cream with pickles would taste very good anyway?"
"No, but I just would want you to say yes if that's what I wanted."
It turns out that the idea of Yes Day came from his library time at school where they read a book about pickles and ice cream on Yes Day. I love conversations like this!
Kirra is chattering away in her own special language. She is working at it but she would just rather play and have her big brother look after her, and talk for her. I know the day will come when that will all change and she'll have the gift of conversation.
