I feel so blessed in my life. This blog is to share those blessings with our loved ones who live too far away to share in the joys we encounter on a daily basis. It is my mission to live a life that is full of gratitude and have a heart that is full of gratitude. Hope that you are taking the time to experience the joy in your life and to be grateful for your many blessings. ~ "When we lose one blessing, another is often, most unexpectedly, given in its place." ~C.S. Life - Busy But That's Life With Little Ones
It is definitely exhausting being parents to young children. It is truly amazing the energy they have each day. At the end of a work day, Terry and I come home tired and drained but we know we owe it to the kids and so we drag every ounce of energy we have and pour it into the kids until we put them to bed each night. It seems to be much of the same on weekends - since we feel that we miss the time with both of them during the week, we try to make the weekends count. Today for example, we had a playdate with Jaret's friend Sophie in the morning. Since moving out of the old house that was right across the street from Sophie, we haven't had as many playdates. So, this morning it was a priority to have some time playing in the backyard at Sophie's. Jaret had lots of fun and didn't want to leave but with a promise that he will get to play with her again, we headed home for lunch. After a bite to eat and a nap for Kirra, Terry met up with Mike and Brett at the spray park in Rockyridge. Jaret and Kirra enjoyed beating the heat (yes, finally some summer weather +29C) by spending a couple of hours playing with Brett. I on the other hand used the time to work on report cards. Thank you Terry for taking the kids so I had the time to do that. Then as soon as they got home and changed, we went over to Mark and Shea's for a bbq. Once we got home, both Jaret and Kirra crashed in a matter of minutes. I guess even busy days like that drain them of their energy too - sometimes. God is good and we are so thankful for these times and know that they will pass by all too quickly. Life is busy but good when we can take joy from making the time count with Jaret and Kirra.
