A Child's Perspective

Jaret is so inquisitive and his mind is always thinking. Recently he has been focused on questions of wonder. Last night in bed he was wondering..."I should ask God if the Eiffel Tower is taller then Heaven."
Terry responds, "You will have to ask God."
"I'll ask HIm when I get to Heaven."
"You could ask Him right now."
"Okay, but how can I ask Him?"
"We can pray."
"Can you help me pray? Because I might not know what to say."
"Sure, repeat after me."
And so the prayer goes something like:
Dear God, I wonder if the Eiffel Tower is as tall as Heaven. Please let me know the answer when you have time. In your name, Amen.
Since then, Jaret has learned that the Eiffel Tower is not as tall as Heaven.
Jaret is trying to understand that God is everywhere, all the time. After singing a song at Pre-school about how big God is, he is putting that concept into his own perspective. "Mom, did you know that God is as wide as the whole world?" Let's just hope he doesn't use that phrase to describe me!
He is also curious about why God created our bodies the way he did. The other day he said, "Dad, why do you think God made ears to stick out? Didn't he know they would always get stuck when we pulled our shirt over our head?"
Recently Jaret has also been talking about how God is so powerful and how He knows everything, even everyone's name. He reminded me the other day that we have to love everyone because God loves everyone. Then Jaret says, "I love you, Mom. And I love the whole world."
All through the perspective of a child ~ oh to have child-like faith!
