Summer - Finally

We finally have some summer weather! Although, they are forecasting rain again this week with cooler than normal temperatures. Oh well - Hawaii here we come! We are really looking forward to our trip. We have been counting down for awhile now with Jaret - only 4 more sleeps.
We had a great weekend! Saturday morning I had some colleagues over. Tanis was down from Edmonton and Shara had a baby just four weeks earlier, so it seemed the perfect reason to celebrate. Tanis, April, and I then enjoyed supper at Earl's that evening. The afternoon though was spent celebrating McKinley's 3rd Birthday. It was a great afternoon and so we enjoyed being out in the backyard at Mark and Shea's. A bouncer was also rented which the kids had fun on.
Sunday was Father's Day and so Terry got to choose what he wanted to do. The day went something like this - Terry got the joy of sleeping in (a luxury in a house with two young kids), he went for a run once he was up, and when he returned I made him an omlette for breakfast. We took a few pictures of him with the kids and then Jaret and Terry went to the Rider vs. Stamps game. They didn't stay for the whole game as Jaret's attention span doesn't quite allow for that yet. I picked them up from the game and we went for a walk down at Edworthy Park while Jaret was on his bike. We had a bbq for supper and then once the kids were in bed, I got out to the gym for a short workout. Happy Father's Day, Terry! Hope you enjoyed your day.
What a difference it makes waking up to sunshine and blue skies. I forgot what that felt like as we have been waking up and enduring such grey skies and gloomy weather. Although, I guess we can't complain too much since we aren't dealing with a state of emergency and flooding like southern Alberta. But, I must say, I felt like I had more spring in my step the last couple of days with summer weather.
