What's New With Jaret

Jaret is enjoying his skating lessons and is proud of himself at how well he is doing. He loves going to "Daddy's Work" and having Terry take time from his work day to skate with him. The instructors are great and have little games set up. They even draw with marker on the ice to make it fun for the kids to skate to different places. This week Jaret skated to the Space Needle that they had drawn on the ice. During his lessons, the Oval has been busy with Olympic athletes from all over the world. We like taking time after the lessons to watch them practice. Wonder if they ever challenge each other to races during practice time?
Jaret got his glasses yesterday. When he first found out he needed glasses, he was a little disappointed and said he didn't want to wear them. We talked about all the people who have glasses and how the glasses will help his one eye to grow stronger so that maybe one day he won't have to wear his glasses. I even put on my reading glasses and wore them as we snapped a few pictures. Jaret wore his glasses most of the first day and they didn't seem to give him a headache. We'll see how today goes. He was thrilled to pick out his very own glasses case and picked a football design. He looks pretty handsome in his new glasses.
Jaret is an awesome big brother. He is attentive to Kirra and is there to make sure she has the toys she wants to play with and to entertain her. He also likes walking her around the house. The other day he told me how when he gets a bit bigger, he will be good at looking after his sister to babysit her when Mom and Dad want to go out. What a great big brother! Let's see if he still feels that way in 10 years.
