Christmas Get Togethers

Friday night we went to the Olympic Oval Staff Family Christmas Party. Terry doesn't work for the Oval but being the Senior Financial Anyalyst for the Faculty of Kinesiology, the Oval is part of his responsibility. It was a great evening. A bouncy house was set up for the kids, the Oval was closed to the public and so we had the ice to ourselves, Santa showed up for the kids and there was food and beverage to be had. Jaret enjoyed skating and was awed by being on the ice with the fastest female skater in the world (Catriona Le May Doan). Jaret enjoyed the stocking of goodies he got from Santa and loved when Mom joined him on the bouncer.
Saturday Night we dropped the kids off at Mike and Monica's house so Lexi could babysit. Terry and I joined Mark and Shea for our annual Christmas dinner. This year instead of The Broken Plate, we went to ParkerHouse downtown. It was a nice evening; the food and drink were great, as was the company - we love our Christmas tradition.
Jaret has also been able to celebrate Christmas a little early, with some of his friends. Sophie came over this past week to make and decorate paper snowflakes. There were sparkles everywhere but it was worth it. Gifts were exchanged and Jaret was excited to receive a Dr. Kit since he and Sophie (under close supervision) enjoy playing doctor. Jaret and McKinley also had fun getting together for their gift exchange before we all head off to Saskatchewan for Christmas with our families.
