Time in Saskatchewan

The kids and I spent ten wonderful days in Regina with my family. I had planned to come home a day earlier but was enjoying my time there so much that I found it hard to leave. Terry drove up with us on Canada Day and spent a couple of days with my family. We enjoyed watching the Rider game on Friday night - Terry and my Dad were at the game while the rest of us watched it on tv. My mom gave up her ticket so Terry could go. We were glad they started the season with a win.
Then on Saturday we drove to Saskatoon. I was able to stop by my Grandma's. I wanted to visit her and see how she was doing after her knee replacement surgery and I wanted her to meet her newest great grandchild. We spent the afternoon at Putt n' Bounce and the batting cages. Jaret had lots of fun golfing and Terry was beaming as he took Jaret into the batting cages and hit a couple of balls with Jaret. Terry's brother came into Saskatoon to meet us for supper at Fudd's (oh how we miss their hamburgers) and Terry went back to Humboldt with him so that he could visit his parents. His dad is doing well after having had bypass surgery. Hopefully the kids and I will get out to visit them in August or September. I drove back to Regina that same day and Terry caught a ride home to Calgary with a guy from work that Sunday.
The week in Regina was relaxing. Being home meant I was due for a dental appointment so I had my regular check-up and cleaning and so did Jaret (his first). Time allowed Jaret to play with his cousins, which he enjoyed very much. I enjoyed the time spent visiting with my sister, Trevor and my parents. My Grandma Mary also came down for a visit and stayed overnight so it was nice that she got to spend some time with the great grandchildren too. Saying good-bye wasn't easy - sometimes it is hard living so far away.
I was a little worried about the drive home as I was on my own with both kids. However, it went really well. Kirra slept most of the way and we only stopped twice to feed. Jaret, as usual, travelled extremely well too - he watched a video, sang his own made up songs, snacked and slept a little as well. With travellers like that, it will make it easier to go and visit more often!
It was good to get home again though. I even came home to a clean house. Terry really missed us and was thrilled to have us all home again. We didn't do too much on the weekend. Terry took Jaret to Calaway for a bit Saturday and then we watched the Rider football game (pumped that they won!). Sunday we spent the afternoon with Terry's cousin Dustin, his wife Rachelle and Jacob. We went to the paddling pool for a bit but it then began to get a little cool so we went back to their place and enjoyed a bbq with them.
Enjoy the pics!
