A Visit From Grandma

Terry's Mom was here last week and Jaret really enjoyed the time she was able to spend with him. He especially liked that she seemed to have different surprises for him everyday, from colouring activities to playdoh; it kept them both busy creating. They also found lots of time to build new train tracks and play trains, read stories together, and one of Jaret's favourites - play hockey in the basement. Jaret is known for his high sticking though so hopefully he was a little extra careful around Grandma. We took Nettie to the airport Saturday morning for her to fly back to the warmer temperatures of Arizona. With how cold it was last week, we were wishing that we were flying to a warmer climate somewhere too - like Hawaii!
Jaret has had a good week. He got to hang out with his best bud, McKinley, on Monday and Tuesday. And in the words that can only come from a three year old he explained how Auntie Shea is a good girl because she took him to the new indoor playground called Joso's that is down at Creekside Mall. Then he went on to explain that Auntie Shea had a turn and next it would be Mom and Dad's turn and then Grandma's turn (when my mom comes next week). He also said in all seriousness that Uncle Mark would have to have a turn too and then he would be a good boy. Oh the way that their minds think when they are only three years old. So, Uncle Mark, you better make sure you live up to the expectation that your wife set for you. I guess the rest of us will have to follow her lead - lol.
