September Long Weekend

Jaret and I drove to Radium to visit my parents, grandmother, Uncle Larry, Aunt Jenn, Darius and Damian on Friday morning. They had all been staying at Grandma's timeshare for the week. I wasn't sure that I would be able to get there because of how busy things are at school, but I took Friday off so we could get a visit in. The afternoon was spent at Radium Hot Springs. Jaret loved the hot and cool pools. I think he preferred the cool pool as there was a slide that he went down again and again. I don't know where they get their energy from? He didnt want to stop. We then enjoyed a bbq for supper and watched Montreal beat BC in their Labour Day Classic game. It was an interesting game and close right to the end. While everyone else went back to the Hot Springs (in the rain), Mom and I put Jaret down for the night. He was excited to sleep on his Thomas the Train blow-up mattress. He slept well, despite waking up in the night asking about the noise (grandparents snoring). Too funny - sorry Mom, had to put that in. Jaret didn't want to leave Radium as he was having fun just playing outside. But, after a late breakfast and some visiting, it was time to go. My parents were also leaving so we drove to Calgary following one another. Jaret kept wanting to catch Grandma and Grandpa to blow them kisses.
Terry had missed us even though we were only gone overnight. We had lunch when we got home and then went to Airdrie to look at some showhomes. Saturday night we took Jaret to the Dinos basketball game. Jaret loved it - especially the popcorn part. He sat quite content for most of the game - eating popcorn, watching the game and cheering for the Dinos.
Sunday we did a little shopping and then came home to watch the Rider game. It was a slow and somewhat boring game but we were happy with a Rider win.
Monday we went for an early lunch to Tim Horton's. I then worked at the school the rest of the day and Terry and Jaret went to Calaway Park. Terry even took the video camera and got some footage. As soon as I download it, I will post some clips.
It is now September and we can feel the chill in the air. It feels like fall is here, especially with the start of another school year. I will again be Elementary Vice-Prinicpal and teaching Grade 3 part-time. Hoping for a great year!
