Saturday morning we went and had breakfast at McDonald's. Jaret likes going there and playing on the play structure, even though he doesn't even go very far up and doesn't even make it to the slide. But, he has fun just the same. Saturday afternoon, Terry started some yard work. Jaret liked pushing his lawn mower right alongside Terry - should have gotten a picture of that. But, I am sure there will be many more opportunities for that. Jaret and I went out for a walk. While on our walk, I was thrilled to find some pussy willow trees growing by the pond in our neighbourhood. It reminded me of when I was a child and my Grandma Mary would take me for walks to the Souris Valley grounds. We would cut sprigs of pussy willows from the many trees; such good memories. During our walk we stopped to play at the park. Terry and Jaret went out for supper Saturday evening while I met Tanis for supper. It was so great visiting her and catching up. I was home early and got to bath Jaret and put him to bed.
Sunday was a beautiful day, perfect for the mountains. We went to Banff and started with lunch at Earl's. We walked around the town and then spent time at Bow Falls. The falls look quite different this time of year as there isn't as much spring run off yet so much more of the rock is visible in the falls. Jaret loved walking on the snow and ice on the river and had fun throwing rocks into the water. It was a great day! We were exhausted by the end of it and I felt like we could have used an extra day.
Terry booked our trip to Europe on Sunday night. We are very excited about that trip but know we need to be careful not to try to pack too much into our time out there. We leave on July 5th - 61 days away! The countdown has begun.
