We got to the hotel just before lunch on Saturday and checked into our room. Jaret was so cute as he wheeled his new Thomas the Train suitcase into the hotel (thanks Auntie Lisa). He felt very proud that he had a suitcase like Mommy and Daddy. So many people looked his way, smiled, and said how adorable he looked. When we got on the elevator, Jaret thought it was important to point to his suitcase and tell a couple that it was his suitcase - they thought it was pretty cute - and really, would I disagree? After lunch and Jaret being in awe of the mall and all their was to see, we headed to the waterpark. We spent the afternoon there. We were a little disappointed however, as so many of the slides were closed and the whole children's area was closed as it is currently being renovated. There was only one slide that we were able to take Jaret on. But with that and just splashing around in the wave pool, it was enough for him. When we went down the slide, he would wave at the lady at the top and whoever else was watching. He had so much fun! Then it was back to the hotel room for a nap before supper. Pam and Terry and their kids joined us for supper. We got to meet Baby Rowen for the first time - I really enjoyed getting in some cuddles with him. And Jaret really enjoyed him too and he showed him by giving him some kisses on the head. The kids enjoyed the jacuzzi back at our room after supper and it turned out to be a late night. Jaret had a hard time getting to sleep and then didn't sleep so well all night, and as a result we didn't either. At 1:00 a.m., Jaret woke and didn't want to be in his bunk bed but decided he should sleep with Mommy and Daddy in the king size bed. And there was room so if that was the only way to get some sleep, then I was fine with it. So, Jaret and Mommy cuddled all night.
Sunday morning came much too early. As I got ready, Terry and Jaret went for breakfast. Then we checked out of the hotel and packed up. I met my friend Tanis for lunch at Earl's and Terry and Jaret spent time at GalaxyLand. Jaret had an okay time but I think he was too tired to really appreciate the fun of all the rides. One ride that he really liked was the train, especially because it went through a tunnel. What could be better? Unfortunately, Terry didn't get any pictures of their time on the rides - we know who the picture taker in the family is. But, they enjoyed their time at GalaxyLand and I enjoyed catching up and visiting with Tanis. We then stopped by Pam and Terry's for a very short visit and tour of their house and then knew we had pushed the limits of a very full weekend and needed to get on the road so Jaret could sleep. And sleep he did, most of the way home. I also closed my eyes for a bit, poor Terry had to drive. We are all looking forward to an early night tonight. But, it was worth it because we enjoyed our weekend.
