Christmas Holidays

We had a very enjoyable time with friends and family over the Christmas holidays. Jaret traveled so well to Saskatchewan, which made the 8 hour trip easier to deal with. We arrived at Terry's parents in Humboldt on December 22nd. On the 23rd we let Grandma and Grandpa babysit as we went into Saskatoon with Terry's brother and his wife (Kim and Jackie) for supper at The Keg and then to a movie. Justin and his girlfriend Vanessa drove in with Alysha and her boyfriend Matthew and they met as at the movie. We saw National Treasure 2 and it was a good movie but not as good as the first one. It was such a nice evening. Then we spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with Terry's family. Jaret liked opening gifts - not just his own but anyone who was willing to let him help. It was cute to watch him as he ripped off small pieces at a time and then needed to ensure that the wrapping paper made it's way to the garbage. He was spoiled and loved all the gifts he got. We did see a theme of Thomas the Train gifts which made him happy. He will be even more excited when the train table gets all set up for him to play with. On Christmas Day, we let Grandma and Grandpa put Jaret to bed and Terry and I went over to Kim and Jackie's for a dip in the hot tub. It felt so great! On Boxing Day we again drove to Saskatoon to spend some time with Terry's mom's side of the family. It was nice to see those that were there, as it had been a year since we last saw some of the relatives. From there we drove to my parents place. Jaret had lots of time to play with his cousins, Justine and Ayden, as Lisa and Trevor were working while we were there. It felt different not having to be the one to entertain Jaret all the time, the kids helped with that. They all got along well, for the most part. My mom pulled out this neat Geo-Trax train set that really captivated Jaret's attention. While in Regina we got to visit with my friend Sandra, husband John, and their new baby girl Zoe. We also stopped in to visit Winnie and Harold, dear friends of ours from when we attended Ebenezer Baptist Church in Saskatoon. They now live in Regina, closer to their daughter and grandchildren. We also got out for supper with Lisa, Trevor and the kids one night, while Mom, Dad, and Grandma Mary were attending an anniversary supper. The holidays flew by much too quickly and before you know it, we were getting packed up to head home. It is always hard saying good-bye as visits are too few and far between, but it was a very enjoyable Christmas.
There are many pictures below - enjoy!
