Jaret absolutely loves his advent calendar. He gets so excited that after supper each night, he gets a treat. He will help find the number of the day we are on and then tries to carefully open the box to get the chocolate from inside. We then turn the box around and put it back in so it shows a picture on the other side. What would make Jaret more happy? Having more than one chocolate. He is like his Dad that way and could eat one chocolate after another. In fact, after buying a box of Macadamian chocolates from Costco, it is already gone. Terry just couldn't resist eating one after another until they all disappeared. See what I mean about like father, like son? Another thing that Jaret has begun to do is not just take a bit of the chocolate, but shove the whole thing in his mouth - little stinker! I think this started when Terry helped him unwrap the chocolate once and then sampled it by taking a bite. Jaret is smarter than that and isn't going to share with anyone!
Hope that you are all able to stay warm despite the cold temperatures outside. I find the best way is to simply stay inside, cuddled up in front of the fire. Jaret enjoys the fire as well, but has taking to deciding when he thinks it should be on or off. He will climb onto the loveseat and simply turn it on or off whenever he pleases. Obviously this is something we are teaching him that he is not allowed to do.
