Jaret loves to climb and he especially likes to get his picture taken at the zoo with these creatures at the front entrance because it reminds him of a picture we took with Ayden years ago.
We miss Ayden so much!
Kirra's favourite was the penguin exhibit.
Jaret with the Lemur bushes. We unfortunately didn't see the lemurs on this trip to the zoo as the line was so long and the day was so hot. Maybe next time!
Just as company left, we had more arrive. Kim and Jackie came to visit for the weekend. They arrived late on Friday night and the weather was still hot so we sat on the deck late into the evening. Saturday we hiked Heart Creek in the afternoon. It is an easy hike. The terrain has changed so much since the flood. Jaret had a goal to not take a single bridge but to find his own path. He loves to find adventure and create challenge. Kirra likes to stick to the path though and would prefer the shortest hike possible. After the hike I got off of not having to cook. Kim loves Smash Burger so we grabbed burgers to enjoy on the deck at home and again sat visiting on the deck that evening, until it was time to watch the Rider game.
On Sunday we took it easy in the morning. The afternoon we floated The Bow. The weather didn't look like it was going to be great at first as it began to lightly rain. However, it didn't take long for it to blow over and turn into a beautiful afternoon to float down the river. Since then the kids have been asking when we can buy a raft so that we can float every weekend.
Terry is eyeing Jaret's ribs...
He then tried to steal one and Jaret slapped his hand away right before the following pic...
I can tell that he is growing with how much he is starting to eat and he can't seem to get enough of my BBQ ribs!
The weekend went by much too quickly. We enjoy hosting family and friends and hope that we can have more company again soon.
