Music has always been a huge part of how I worship and grow deeper in my relationship with Christ. I believe it is also becoming that for Kirra. She loves to sing. When we are in the vehicle we usually have music on and we both sing along. Sometimes it is from cds that have kids worship music and sometimes it is The Message. One song that I love and hear often when I am driving is "Thy Will" by Hillary Scott. I absolutely love the message of this song.
When we pray, we commit ourselves to God. When we sing, "Thy will be done," it is a prayer to God where we are committing to Him - to His plan and purpose for our life. Each and everyday this is my prayer - that I walk in His good and perfect will that God has for my life and what He has planned for the day before me.
It is too easy to rely on our own wants, desires, and strength but it is entirely a different matter to rely on what God's plan and purpose is for our life. And each day we need to remember not to conform to the world but to be transformed and to transform the world around us for God's glory. We need to recognize how sovereign God is - that He is sovereign in our lives and that only He can transform us so that we in turn can transform the world.
In the song, "Thy Will," Scott sings:
Sometimes it is hard to count it all joy
Distracted by the noise
Just trying to make sense
Of all your promises
Sometimes I gotta stop
And remember that you're God
And I am not...
There is joy in life and there are difficulties where we do question and doubt. Times when we do get so distracted by the noise of how busy life gets and the voices of the those around us. It is times like this that we need to stop, to be still, and to remember God's promises. To hold them dear to our heart and be reminded that God is the one in charge. And that His plan is absolutely perfect. I pray for each of you that you will walk in the good and perfect will God has planned for your life.
Another song that I love right now that speaks to trusting in God and His plan is Lauren Daigle's, "Trust In You." God gives the answers in His time and we need to trust in that time. He is our rock and our firm foundation. We need to continue to trust in Him always. No matter what we face, He is always by our side. He may not answer our prayers in our time, but He answers them according to His plan for us and it is always good and far better than we could ever ask or imagine.
I hope you enjoyed these songs and they they speak to you today and meet you where you are at.
