I feel so blessed in my life. This blog is to share those blessings with our loved ones who live too far away to share in the joys we encounter on a daily basis. It is my mission to live a life that is full of gratitude and have a heart that is full of gratitude. Hope that you are taking the time to experience the joy in your life and to be grateful for your many blessings. ~ "When we lose one blessing, another is often, most unexpectedly, given in its place." ~C.S. Lewis

Servathon 2016
In a few weeks Jaret, Kirra and I are participating in a very special event that is not just another fundraiser - it's part of something much bigger! We are going to be telling our friends and family about the impact Bearspaw Christian School has had on our lives. We and over 700 students from BCS will ALSO be serving great organizations who support the citizens of Calgary and Area during our "Week of Service" celebration from December 6th - 9th. The kids and I are excited to serve and shine the LIGHT of Jesus into Calgary. Kirra and her classmates will be working with an organization called Inn From the Cold. Jaret and the Grade 5 students will be serving at a local senior's home. And I am excited because I will get to be with many of the students serving in different capacities from helping support the food bank, packing backpacks, and crisis pregnancy centre and many others.
You may be asking, "Why are we collectively going over 3500 hours back to help our communities in this time of need?" Well, we are doing this as Disciples of Jesus, selflessly showing the love of the Lord to as many of our fellow citizens as we can, in a time of need for our city.
BCS is excited about this event, not only because it is an opportunity to provide much needed funding for many of the critical aspects of our school, but also because we get to walk out our faith, and serve...double benefit from one event!
BCS's mission is, "Joining with the family to realize personal academic excellence and Christ-like character in each student." Funds raised from this event will fund the ongoing implementation of our new Bible curriculum and will fund our Grade 11 Mission Trip to Guatemala in Spring 2017. Both Jaret and Kirra can't wait until they get to go on this trip and each year donate stuffies for the students to take and give to children. In addition to these discipleship programs, funds will increase our ability to offer tuition assistance to those BCS families who are experiencing hardship. Both in the classroom and in the building, things will improve too, through the funding of additional resource support and through a modest facility construction project to optimize useable space.
Would you support us? Our family's goal is to raise $1 200 in personal sponsorship through friends and family. We have already made a contribution toward our goal and we would like to invite you to participate as well. Your help will truly make a difference and every bit helps.
To support us, you may make a donation on my individual web page accessed here. You may also donate by cheque (payment payable to Bearspaw Christian School and sent to 15001 69th Street NW Calgary, AB T3R 1C5)
Thank you for your consideration and generosity. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
