Seattle Seahawks

Hopefully this is the start to a great season for the Seahawks!  Terry has been faithfully watching every game and last weekend, he and I, along with Kim and Jackie, got to attend a Seahawks game at Century Link Field in Seattle.  The energy of being at a live game is so awesome!  We were thrilled to be at the game and ecstatic about their win over the San Fransisco 49ers.  We checked out the pre-game fun and we are so glad we did.  We were able to meet Steve Largent, former Seahawk who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1995.  He signed a flag for us and we got our photo with him.  Terry is happy that he has one more piece of memorabilia to add to his man cave in the garage.  We checked out the fun inside the event centre.  Terry and Kim were disappointed to not get up and personal with the SeaGals but they enjoyed meeting one of the 49ers cheerleaders - you have to check out the photo below to get the full story behind this one.  Such a memorable experience and one they won't forget for years to come.  We enjoyed listening to Blue Thunder and felt pumped as we headed into the game.  All of it was so much fun!  After the win we headed to YardHouse where Terry had one of the 150 some beers on tap.  The food was delicious and was a great end to our day.

Terry and I arrived in Seattle on the Saturday morning, joining Kim and Jackie who had arrived the night before.  We spent the day just hanging out and checking out some of the sites.  We did lots of walking (18K actually which was exhausting).  We spent time at Pike's Place Farmer's Market, which is always a favourite.  Jackie and I even got spoiled with some flowers.  We also did some shopping at and near the stadium for some Seahawks gear because who doesn't need more gear?  Or so I have been told!  We walked down by the waterfront and just hung out down there as the weather was perfect.  That evening we enjoyed Asian fusion at PF Chang's for supper.  Such a treat for us!  But even more of a treat was getting some cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory for dessert.

It was a quick trip but we really enjoyed the opportunity to get away and connect with Terry's brother and sister-in-law.  And we are so appreciative to my mom who was in Calgary for some specialist appointments and was able to stay the weekend to spend with the kids.  They had so much fun with her and didn't even have time to miss us.   I guess that gives us good incentive to go on another trip soon.
