We celebrated Kirra's birthday with a party at Flying Squirrel last night. She and her friends had a blast! They ran around. They jumped. They bounced. They laughed. They couldn't get enough of all the fun they were having. They stopped briefly for food - pizza and cupcakes. One of Kirra's friends mentioned that the pizza was cold but we didn't think much of it until I took a bite and discovered the middle of the pizza was still frozen. Not so appetizing. It didn't seem to phase the kids though as they were off jumping again until it was cupcake time. At the end of the night, the kids didn't want to leave because they were having too much fun. So, despite the disappointment from our perspective as parents with the pizza, overly sweet drinks, and missing balloons that had been previously ordered, none of it phased the kids. And in the end, it meant a discount off the party so I guess that helped.
Kirra had the day off because it was a PD Day, but that meant I did not have the day off, nor did Terry. The kids enjoyed spending the day with my mom. Kirra especially enjoyed the time with my mom as she played with all the new toys she received. It was a fun day for her. We then ended the day with supper at Montana's. The funny thing about it was that she didn't even want them to sing to her for her birthday or wear the moose head. Her reasoning for going there was to colour on the table. I think I will pull out the butcher paper next time and convince her on any other restaurant.
Happy 7th Birthday, Kirra! We are so grateful to be your parents. You bring so much joy into our lives each day. We love to hear you laugh and see you smile as your eyes light up. We love your heart and how kind you are to others. It makes us smile when we hear you sing made up songs to God or when you make up dances to worship music and dance around the house. You are such a blessing and we are blessed by you each day. We love you, Kirra! Happy Birthday!
The pizza - not recommended - although, not all of it was frozen.
I think she has some boyfriends - but don't tell her that because she will start naming them all!
She was so excited to get Lea Clark - Girl of the Year! Can you tell she is over the moon?
