We have been enjoying summer around here. We haven't been doing a whole lot but that is part of what I love about summer. We had a play date at Tysdal's that started in the afternoon and lasted long into the evening, we even ordered supper in and just relaxed.
We spent an afternoon at Rocky Ridge with friends and followed that up with Nichole and I enjoying a glass of wine on the deck in the evening.
Over the long weekend we were busy. We enjoyed supper out at a fabulous Greek restaurant with my Aunt Lee and cousin Helen. We then sat on the deck as it was a beautiful evening.
Saturday my girlfriend, Pam, and her family came to visit and stay overnight. They were on their way back to Chiliwack after visiting family in Ontario. The boys got along so well with Kirra and Jaret and it was wonderful catching up with Pam and Patrick. I wish they lived closer so we could see them more often. Although, not sure about Patrick beating all of us at Ticket to Ride.
Sunday we enjoyed having Mark and Shea and the boys over for supper. The kids had a fun time, playing in the yard and jumping on the trampoline. It was a late night but with the weather so perfect, we couldn't tear ourselves from the fire table and the kids were enjoying jumping on the trampoline in the dark. Summer is made of memories like that.
Summer isn't complete without ice cream - either from the ice cream truck or a bike ride to Neighbour's for milkshakes (which seems to happen frequently).

Kirra loves sidewalk chalk - rainbows, hearts, flowers...all girl!

Monday, we met up with our friends, Jamie and Erin and their kids, for some canoeing. It was a fun day with hot weather. Jamie managed to do really well with Conner and Jaret helping him paddle. Erin and Coral managed well despite it being the first time Erin had ever canoed. Terry and I were in a canoe with Kirra who seemed to enjoy it for the first five minutes until she got bored. We then picked up SmashBurger and headed to Rocky Ridge for a picnic. A nice end to the weekend. Happy Summer, Everyone! Stay safe!
