With only two weeks of school left, Jaret's class was able to celebrate their year with Christ-like Character Awards. Once a school-wide evening event, the celebration has become more intimate with just class presentations. The award ceremony began with Jaret's class singing a song about their faith, complete with actions. And growth is evident in Jaret even in that as he participated with actions. He still doesn't like to be the centre of attention but he is becoming more comfortable in situations where some attention is placed on him.
Jaret received the Christ-like Character of Contentment. His teacher sees that no matter what the circumstance, Jaret displays a happy disposition i and that he is at peace at all times. He has a demeanour about him that brings calmness. His friends have said that he is smart, friendly, helps others when they are hurt, that he includes others, he is faithful, loyal, kind-hearted, and adventurous. Jaret's personal favourite from the list was that he is a "Clash of Clans" buddy.
More so than being proud of how well he does academically and the comments on his report card, I am always so touched by how Jaret is affirmed in who he is in Christ and the character that he displays in this regard. What a way to uplift and encourage our children in what truly matters. My heart is full!!
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." ~Matthew 6:33
