Christmas was spent just the four of us this year. It was quiet, well, as quiet as it can be with two little kiddos. We enjoyed attending a Christmas Eve service at our church. The church was full and it was wonderful hearing everyone's voices singing carols. After the service we lit a candle for Ayden and said a prayer for him. Once we got home we got out the goodies, put on the Christmas music, read The Christmas Story from the Bible, and opened gifts. Before bed, the kids and I read, "T'was the Night Before Christmas." They set out the milk and cookies and wrote a note to Santa. We had a wonderful evening.
Christmas Day we slept in a bit and opened stockings, followed by a yummy brunch. Then we watched The Polar Express. Jaret had borrowed the book from the library so he was excited to see the movie. My Auntie Lee came over with her puppy, Mighty, and we enjoyed the afternoon and evening together, complete with Christmas supper. And now we look forward to the rest of the holidays. The kids made up a list of all the fun things they want to do over the holidays so it will be fun checking off that list - memories being made! Cherishing the moments.
