Gingerbread Fun

I love Christmas Holidays.  Weekend started with an evening with a couple of girlfriends catching up and enjoying a glass (or two) of wine.  Sometimes is just too long between our visits so was wonderful to visit before Christmas.
Saturday evening we enjoyed an evening out.  The kids were so excited to have Erika babysit and thrilled with playing their new Frozen game she bought them and let them open - an early Christmas present.  Terry and I met my Auntie Lee and Helen for supper at The King and I and enjoyed a visit with both of them over good food.
This morning, the kids and I went to visit Daryl and Leanne.  After hot chocolate, the kids got to rearrange Teddy Bear Corner.  It seems that the teddy bears somehow decided they didn't want to be set up in the corner and were scattered about the basement.  After Jaret counted and recounted, they reorganized the bears.  Then Auntie Leanne introduced them to "Where's Waldo?" books.  Kirra and Jaret were a little competitive and tried to see who would find Waldo first and of course keep track.  Kirra has a good eye and was way ahead.  Jaret persevered though until he caught up to Kirra.
This afternoon we began our new tradition of a Gingerbread Party - borrowed from my dear friend Kelli, who has been doing this for a number of years.  Always more fun when you get friends together to decorate, rather than just doing it yourself.  We had a wonderful time!  Time with loved ones, fun activities, and extra cuddles while staying up a bit later are a few of the reasons why I love this time of year.
