Grandparent Visit

I am a little late on this post as Terry's parents visited us a couple of weekends ago now.  I am so grateful that our parents come to visit us and our kids even though we live back in Calgary.  I know how important it was for me to have my grandparents be such a big part of my life growing up so I am thankful for the relationships our parents have with our children.

Jaret and Kirra love when Grandpa Geoff tells them stories at night before bed - most of them true stories from his own boyhood days that always capture their attention and having them ask for just one more story...

Before church on Saturday night, Jaret was practicing his Bible Memory Verse and loved that Grandma and Grandpa were taking an interest in helping him learn the very long and challenging verse.  He was so proud when he said it without needing any help.

Kirra loves when Grandma comes up to her room, sits on the floor with her, and builds her Lego while Kirra plays with the Lego and makes a general mess of her room.

And I can't forget the Lego trading that goes on between Grandpa and Jaret, far from fair when Grandpa buys and builds some big Lego set and Jaret "trades" him for something much smaller from his collection.  This has become something of a tradition between the two now.

It is good when the kids can just spend time with their grandparents.

Grandparents
Few can bring the warmth
We can find in their embrace,
And little more is needed to bring love
Than the smile on their face.
They've a supply of precious stories,
Yet they've time to wipe a tear,
Or give us reasons to make us laugh,
They grow more precious through the years.
I believe that God sent us Grandparents
As our legacy from abovem
To share the moments of our life,
As extra measure of His love.
