Frozen

I feel like since this movie has come out from Disney, that we have been in an eternal winter.  And how many of you as parents can say that your kids have watched the movie numerous times and that they sing the songs constantly? And once you get the song in your head, it is difficult to get out, whether it is "Let It Go" or "Do You Want To Build A Snowman?"  One morning last week, I heard Kirra singing the latter song while she was still in bed.  Unfortunately, even though it is Spring, we woke to snow that morning so it was rather fitting.  She followed it up by singing, "Let It Go," as she told me she had to sing a song by both Anna and then Elsa to be fair.  Pretty cute really.  However, when Jaret woke up, he described the weather as being gross.  He is ready to be on his scooter and riding his bike but doesn't want to do so in his snowsuit in the Spring.

Later that morning while Kirra was at a play date, Jaret was bored.  He came to me as I sat by the computer.  I was going to ask Jaret something and absentmindedly began, "Do you want to..."  Jaret responded in a sing song voice to match the theme song, "Build a snowman?"  It was funny and it has now become our thing as he calls it.  I told him I was going to ask, "Do you want to help me clean the bathroom?"  He usually likes helping me clean so I was surprise when he laughed which I guess meant no, so he went downstairs to play some Wii Resort until it was lunch time.  I like these moments with my kids.  But I am hoping Disney comes out with a show that involves an eternal summer next year so we can be affected by some hot and sunny weather.

Kirra loves playing Frozen, watching the movie, and singing the songs.  Every time "Let It Go" comes on the radio it gets turned up and Kirra sings at the top of her lungs.  I have to admit, I sing along too.  And this week when we drove Bree to her day home from pre-school she asked if could sing along to "Let It Go" again, remembering the last time she was in our vehicle.  Such fun times!

In the meantime, it still hasn't been warm enough for the kids to really enjoy Spring and be playing outside for hours on end, without jackets, hats and mitts.  We know Spring has to come eventually and we are looking forward to the warmer weather and some sunshine - soon.
