Easter weekend we spent in Regina with my parents. We arrived on Thursday evening and then stayed until Tuesday. My Aunt Kirsten, Rob, and cousin Racquel were also staying at my parents for the weekend. We had a great visit. And Jaret, being the entrepreneur that he is, made a little money by selling some of his Rainbow Loom bracelets. Although, when Rob offered him a deal, he was uncertain if it was good enough to accept. Jaret ended up making bracelets for everyone, and then made a couple of extra bracelets for Rob, who paid him generously for his had work. Over the weekend, we ate well with a ham one evening (my now famous recipe) and turkey the next night. There were lots of laughs with the kids trying to have quiet contests at the supper table. I am sure - my kids and quiet doesn't usually go hand in hand and Kirra especially couldn't last thirty seconds. I really have no idea where she gets her chatterbox personality. We ate well, visited, laughed, and enjoyed the family time together. We were disappointed that Lisa wasn't well enough to be at mom's and that Justine and Ayden missed it with being at the cabin with Trev's family.
The weather wasn't great during most of the weekend so we spent time inside visiting, watching movies, playing games, and colouring Easter eggs. Kirra was excited to have Racquel French braid her hair and now she wants me to learn to braid her hair. When the weather finally got warmer, I enjoyed getting out for a couple of runs. And the kids enjoyed playing with Taylor and Emma who live next door to my parents. It was so nice the one afternoon that we sat on the deck just soaking in the sunshine. Love when Spring finally arrives but looking more forward to Summer!
The kids enjoyed colouring Easter eggs, although Kirra didn't want any of us to eat them afterward. And they liked doing their Easter egg hunt and getting their Easter baskets. But, more than that, they appreciated the time with family and the reflection of what Easter is all about. Jaret kept saying that today was the day Jesus rose from the dead and Kirra kept saying, "He is Risen. He is Risen Indeed." Love their knowledge and their FAITH!
"On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words." ~Luke 24:1-8
Ooops, wrong books.
