Thanksgiving 2013

We spent Thanksgiving weekend in Regina with my family.  Mom had actually just been in Saskatoon visiting us the night before as Jaret's school had a Heritage Day where grandparents and special guests were invited to the school.  After a program, they toured the classrooms.  Jaret was proud that his Grandma Laura, Grandma Nettie, and Grandpa Geoff could be a part of the day.

The long weekend seemed to go by quickly.  Saturday, Lisa and I went to the game with Mom and Dad while Terry stayed home with the kids.  After sitting outside in the sun and wind that afternoon, we were all pretty tired come evening.  The Riders pulled off a win but didn't really deserve it the way they played - but a win is a win is a win.  Sunday we celebrated Thanksgiving with our turkey meal.  Grandma Mary came from Weyburn.  One of Dad's new employees from the Weyburn office was also invited since her family is in Ontario.  The meal was delicious and as is customary, we celebrated October birthdays.  As you can tell from the picture, Lisa is trying to remain a kid at heart by acting goofy.  Monday we drove home but only had a two hour drive as opposed to an eight hour drive.  However, upon walking out to the vehicle, we discovered a flat tire so Dad and Terry changed that before we could get on the road.  That was the first time that we had to change a tire on our own; good skill to have and thankful that we could do it in the driveway, not on the highway and in warmer weather instead of minus temps of winter.

Thanksgiving - a time to reflect on blessings and show gratitude...

~ I am ever grateful for the relationship I have with my precious and redeemer and the grace he lavishes on me daily

~ I am blessed to be able to worship freely

~ I am thankful for the wonder and awe of God's creation and seeing it through my children's eyes

~ I am blessed by my wonderful husband who loves me despite my more than particular traits

~ I feel so thankful for my beautiful children who make me laugh each day and who show their love through their hugs, kisses, and cuddles

~ I am blessed to have a loving and supportive extended family

~ I am grateful for good health and for the opportunity to uphold those in prayer who are facing battles with health

~ I am thankful for the opportunity to exercise regularly

~ I am grateful to be able to blog and for each of you who read my blog

My list is long - blessed indeed!

"Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name; make known among the nations what He has done.  Sing to Him, sing praise to Him; tell of His wonderful acts." ~ Psalm 105:1-2
