May Long Weekend

It was so nice to have Terry's parents here for the weekend.  They arrived on Friday night.  After supper, they tucked the kids (which the kids were so excited about) and then we spent a low key evening just visiting.
Saturday, was supposed to be the nicest day of the long weekend so our plans were to hang out around the house so the kids could play in the backyard.  I got up and went for an early run along the river.  When I came home, the kids were still in pjs but were enjoying jumping on the trampoline.  I think they would have stayed in their pjs all day if we would have let them.  Terry cleaned out the garage while Terry's mom and I went with the kids to the park.  After the park we drove out to Airdrie to show Terry's parents a home we are thinking about building.  Grandma and Grandpa then got to babysit while Terry and I enjoyed supper out at Joey Crowfoot.
Sunday and Monday, rain was forecast but despite it being overcast, we got very little rain until Monday evening and we had comfortable temperatures.  Sunday we enjoyed the afternoon at Calgary Farmer's Market and then also stopped at Market Mall for a bit of shopping.  We were all tired after that so instead of having the bbq I had planned, we feasted on popcorn and Saskatoon Berry pie.  Jaret loves when we do a popcorn supper - not that we do them that often.  ;)
Monday was a very low key.  It included a trip to Starbucks with the kids to play games while Terry's parents were out doing some errands to get some things they wanted.  We put Kirra's lego together, Jaret played with his friend Ari for a bit, jumped on the trampoline, had a yummy bbq, and Jaret did some ball practice since they didn't have a game tonight.  He is getting to be a good little hitter.  Using tennis balls to practice sure helps his confidence when he sees how far he can hit.  And I can't forget a couple of the highlights for Jaret this weekend - learning Sudoku and trading treasure with Grandpa.  And that was the weekend.  Pretty relaxing but we very much enjoyed the visit with Terry's parents.
