Jaret is doing great! He lost a top front tooth recently. It was a little loose but then he got bumped in gym and it became really loose. That night while he was eating supper, the tooth flew out of his mouth and landed on the floor. At first he thought it was a piece of bread but we quickly realized it was his tooth. Jaret did well on his last report card. We are so proud of how hard he is working at school and how it is paying off. He improved in his reading and writing and continues to do well in math. He does well on his Bible Memory Verses, having received 100%. He enjoys his friends and doing group work at school, especially if it is around science or math. Jaret demonstrates the Christ-like character of being a good friend to others and gets along well with everyone, always including them in games at recess. Jaret's teacher is going on Maternity leave so the class had a going away party on her last day. Jaret will miss Mrs. Cossette.
We have started Spring Break and have the next two weeks off. We are looking forward to spending lots of time together. Today we spent the afternoon at Nakiska. Despite living so close to the mountains, we haven't been out at all this year. It was Kirra's first time skiing and she did awesome. We are hoping to get out a couple more times this year as there is still lots of snow. The first couple runs down, Kirra was uncertain but after I spent an hour with her, she had gained so much confidence. She was getting on and off the magic carpet ride on her own and was able to go down the bunny hill with us just right behind her. Next we will work on speed control and turning. Jaret was excited to have Kirra on skis and challenged her to a couple of races. It will be fun to have them both skiing and hopefully not long until I am able to get back onto skis.
The next post will likely be after Easter. Happy Easter Everyone!
