Christmas Concerts 2012

Kirra had her Christmas Concert on Tuesday afternoon.  It was a simple program since it is a 3 year old pre-school class.  They sang a couple of songs and then "acted" out the Nativity as their teacher read a story.  As one parent put it, "Kirra is the star of the show.  She is playing the part of Mary."  Funny to call her the star of the show.  They were all pretty adorable standing up on stage not having a clue what they were doing.  After the program, all the kids sang, "Happy Birthday" and cake was served.  I think the kids thought this was the best part.
Jaret's Concert was held at the school on Thursday night. It was a play that had choral parts intermingled throughout and all the students from Grade 1-4 were part of the choir. Jaret doesn't love singing but he was attentive during the play and stood to sing when it was his turn. With all the kids up on stage and a full gymnasium, it was difficult to get close and get great shots. At the end of the night Jaret said about the production, "But you couldn't even hear me singing." We assured him that was a sign of a good choir though. The play was called, "Nathan and the Neon Nightlight," hence the colourful shirts all the students are wearing. It was enjoyable to see the kids Christmas Concerts.
