Shea would not like the title of this blog. Norway has been a difficult transition for them and she is not a fan of anything Norwegian. It was wonderful to have our friends, Mark and Shea, visit this past week. We were able to catch up and visit lots but were busy while they were here. Monday when Jaret woke up, he cried that he didn't want to go to school but just wanted to hang out with Kinley all day. He did however, go to school. Tuesday evening the adults went out for supper as it was our annual Christmas Dinner. We are so thankful that we didn't have to miss that this year. We went to ParkerHouse and had a wonderful evening. The kids were excited to stay home because it meant lots of play time together and Lexi and Erika babysitting all of them. Wednesday afternoon I pulled Jaret from school so that we could spend the afternoon at Tommy K Play. They had a blast! Their favourite was a game where they were in a room and had to play against each other as they hit buttons as they lit up and scores were kept. That evening, Terry and I went out for his Christmas Party to Notables. It was a nice evening out and I got to wear my new dress from London. Thursday morning, Shea and I enjoyed getting pedicures at Riverside Spa. Such a wonderful time to sit and visit without interuptions of our kids and get pampered. That evening, we all went out for supper to Smash Burger. Jaret's Christmas Concert followed but we rushed home afterwards so that the kids could open their Christmas gifts and McKinley and Jaret could have a campout. The week went way too fast and we were sad to see them leave on Friday morning.
I have to tell you about that Friday morning though as it was quite eventful. Jaret would tell you it was such a sad day because his best friend was leaving and because Fishy-Wishy almost died. As I was about to feed the fish, Mark noticed he wasn't in the tank. We searched all over the floor and finally checking the sink, found him in the garburator. Terry got him out with some tongs, not an easy feat, and we returned him to his tank. Jaret would tell you that Uncle Mark and Daddy are special to him because they saved Fishy-Wishy that day. That little fish doesn't quite seem himself and we hope he pulls through.
Sad to see our friends leave again as we now won't see them until the summer. Cherished friendships...
