I feel so blessed in my life. This blog is to share those blessings with our loved ones who live too far away to share in the joys we encounter on a daily basis. It is my mission to live a life that is full of gratitude and have a heart that is full of gratitude. Hope that you are taking the time to experience the joy in your life and to be grateful for your many blessings. ~ "When we lose one blessing, another is often, most unexpectedly, given in its place." ~C.S. Weekend Visit
Terry's parents arrived Friday night for a weekend visit. The kids were so excited to see them as it had been so long since our last visit; we had not yet seen them since they returned from Yuma. We spent some time Friday night simply visiting and catching up. And of course they brought a little gift for the kids. Jaret got some pirate gear and Kirra some jewels fit for a princess.
Saturday we slept in and took our time getting ready. We then headed to the Farmer's Market for lunch. Grandma and Grandpa treated both kids to face painting which was a highlight for both of them. The afternoon was beautiful so we returned home to spend time hanging out in the backyard. Kirra fell asleep in the car and had a little nap when we arrived home but Jaret was eager to head out to the backyard and the trampoline. It was sunny and warm so we put the sprinkler on under the trampoline which was added fun for Jaret. The rest of us soaked up the sun and enjoyed watching the fun Jaret was having. We enjoyed supper at Montana's and after the kids were in bed, we had a few games of Joker's.
Sunday morning we had a delicious waffle breakfast. Mom and Dad then decided to take the kids out for a couple of hours. They took them to CrossIron where the kids played in the Play Area, spent time looking around Toys R' Us, and then a trip to Build-A-Bear where they both came out with a new pet to love. Jaret now has a puppy named Pup and Kirra a bear named Candy (because it looks like cotton candy). They were beyond excited! Once they were back, we took the kids to the park. I then left to serve a meal to the homeless at the Drop-In Center while everyone else went out for supper. I had planned this a couple of months ago for my Grade 5 students as an optional field trip/service project. Five of my students showed up with their Dad's to serve supper. It was a wonderful experience for all of us.
It was a nice weekend and we enjoyed having Terry's parents here for a visit. The kids are already asking when they can come back again.
