I feel so blessed in my life. This blog is to share those blessings with our loved ones who live too far away to share in the joys we encounter on a daily basis. It is my mission to live a life that is full of gratitude and have a heart that is full of gratitude. Hope that you are taking the time to experience the joy in your life and to be grateful for your many blessings. ~ "When we lose one blessing, another is often, most unexpectedly, given in its place." ~C.S. Father's Day 2012
We had a fun Father's Day. It was a tiring but very satisfying day. It started with Starbucks on our deck with breakfast. The sun was out and although it wasn't hot, it was a nice temperature to sit on the deck. We then did something we have never done before. We went on a family run. As Terry and I ran, Jaret rode his bike and Kirra was in the stroller. We ran through the hills of Kincora which was no easy feat. It felt great to start the day with a run.
After getting ready for the day, we headed to CrossIron to do some shopping. That is where Terry got to pick out two new shirts - his Father's Day gift from the kids. We took it easy around the house after getting home from shopping before going out for a hike. We drove down to Edworthy Park and hiked the Douglas Fir Trail. The trail had some good elevation changes and with all the forest around us, we didn't even feel like we were in the city. Kirra was in the carrier most of the time which was an extra workout on Terry since Kirra is getting pretty big. Jaret was a trooper as he hiked the whole trail and kept up really well. With the exception of when he was hunting for treasure. Along the path he found $8 - all of which 'fell' out of Terry's pocket in front of him. Jaret loved hiking the "Treasure Trail" as he called it. We finished the day off with supper at Earl's - always a favourite.
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! Hope you had a special day! Special hugs to my Dad and Father-in-law.
