Mother's Day 2012

I feel so blessed to be a mom. It is the most amazing job in the world and although sometimes it is a thankless job, there are other times that completely make up for it. I am grateful for my two beautiful children and the awesome love we share. A quote from a woman named Elizabeth Stone states, "Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." I believe there is a great amount of truth to that quote. Before I had children, I never knew just how much love I had to share. There is no greater gift than that of being a Mom. Kirra was so cute today as she kept wishing me, "Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!" Perhaps she thought I may forget what day it was if she didn't keep reminding me. We went out for brunch this morning. It was a wonderful start to the day and the food was delicious. I always love the omlette making stations and waffles with all the toppings. Jaret made me a beautiful card and creative hat at school. In the card the kids answered questions about their mom and I found it interesting that Jaret thinks I am 59 years old and that when he is at school he thinks I nap during the day. Oh through the eyes of a child... We enjoyed a walk down by the Bow River at Prince's Island Park. We also walked over Calgary's newest bridge - Peace Bridge. While on our walk, we saw a family of geese that included five little goslings. They were so adorable. We also stopped at the park for the kids to play. I love seeing my children's smiles while they play and hear their laughter and excitement when having so much fun. A stop was made for slurpees since it was so hot out. I hadn't had a slurpee in probably over ten years. But, it won't be that long before the next slurpee run. After a stop at Home Outfitters for a few things, we returned home to do some organizing around the house as we are still trying to get settled after the move (pics on that to come in another post). Terry worked on setting up the new barbeque but it wasn't ready in time for supper so we did take out which meant NO cooking on Mother's Day. A special day and I did feel very loved and cared for. And now a message for all you moms out there... A Mother's Day Prayer for You May you have all the joy your heart can hold... All the smiles a day can bring... All the blessings a life can unfold... may you have God's best in everything! Have a Wonderful Day The blessing of the Lord be upon you. Psalm 129:8
