Happy Easter!

We had plans to drive to Saskatchewan to spend time with our family but with all that we have on the go right now, we decided against the trip. It was disappointing not to be with family and we missed them but we made the best of our time together here with our little family. Jaret and Kirra love celebrating any holiday and so our celebrating began early with some Easter Crafts. On Tuesday, we painted paper eggs and did some finger painting. The finger painting was fun but the end result didn't work out as well as I had hoped. Wednesday we had McKinley and Everett over and we did our Easter Egg Colouring. The kids had so much fun and shwed lots of patience waiting for the dye to colour the eggs. Friday was a quiet day at home with a little potty training. A start of something anyway. Saturday we continued with a little more potty training and that mixed with me getting side tracked with lego building meant that I did not get as much checked off my to do list as I had hoped. But, all is good ~ that is just the life of a Mom and I wouldn't have it any other way. Saturday night our church put on a play called "The Uprising." It was so well done. Kirra was in nursery but Jaret watched the play with us. He was so intrigued by it and had so many questions. I love how inquisitive he is. We have a great deal of talented people at our church and they put on a fabulous production. The sanctuary was packed. Sunday morning we got up and had an Easter Egg Hunt. The kids had so much fun and enjoyed finding all their eggs and the Easter Basket. We then enjoyed brunch at Cora's and didn't even have a wait which was pretty unbelievable since we got there at 10:30am. We had a delicious meal and then came home to hang out for the rest of the day while I prepared an Easter ham for supper. Jaret and Kirra played well ~ Jaret taught Kirra about the real Easter story and then they played Easter Egg Hunt for most of the afternoon as they hid eggs for the other to find, taking turns nicely. Although, Jaret was frustrated when Kirra would try to tell Jaret where she hid the eggs for him. All afternoon Kirra kept repeating, "He is Risen Indeed." It was pretty cute. Happy Easter Everyone! Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
