Jaret has been taking ski lessons for the last month at Nakiska. It is amazing to see his improvement in just one month's time. And he has also gained so much confidence since his first time on the hill this season. The first lesson they stayed on the bunny hill working on snowplows and turns. The next lesson they went up the bronze chair and did a green run. With the third lesson, they did some races while practicing their turns through pylons. He really enjoyed the race; it helped that he won by skiing the course in 24 seconds. Today was his fourth lesson and the instructor only had three students so he took them up the Silver Chair which allowed them to do green and blue runs. Jaret was right on the instructor's tail the whole time. After the last few lessons, Terry has been spending the rest of the day on the slopes with Jaret. They have spent a lot of time on the Silver Chair doing the green and blue runs. Last week at the end of the day, Jaret didn't want to leave. Then when he woke up on Monday morning the first words out of his mouth were, "Is it a ski day, Mommy?" He was so hoping it was and although he enjoys school, he was disappointed to know that it would be one whole week before his next ski lesson. Terry was able to take some video of Jaret skiing today. They were skiing with Mike, Brett, and Lexi. When Terry told Jaret that it was their last run of the day, Jaret asked if he could have a bonus run. Anything to stay on the hill longer. He is enthusiastic about skiing! Terry is already considering putting him into the Nancy Green Racing Program next year.
