While on their way to Nakiska, Terry and Jaret had a conversation about driving. Terry while teaching Jaret about speed limits, told Jaret to watch on the highway for the next small black and white sign and ell Dad what the number on the sign is. As it happened, the next sign was a small black and white marker sign for Highway
201. Jaret's advice, "Put the pedal to the metal!"
While driving in the car the other day, I had the following conversation with Jaret ~
"Who will my kids Mom be when I am a Dad?"
"That depends on who you marry, Sweetie."
"So if I marry Erika, she will be my wife and mom to my kids?"
"Yep that is how it would work."
"And if I married a girl from Hawaii then she would be the mom. And then you and dad would have to spend money on plane tickets to come and visit us."
Thinks it is cute that Jaret is so into numbers. Every morning starts with numbers and every night ends with him still counting and talking about numbers. Tonight it was talk about how he can count by 10's and 100's. Recently as he counted to 100 he then told me he was going to bookmark where he counted to so that he could start from there next time and count to 1000. Thought it was cute that he "bookmarked" where he was at. With his love of numbers, I guess he really does want to be an accountant like his Daddy.
While tucking Jaret one night, he wrapped his arms tightly around my neck and said, "Mommy, you are better than a teddy bear."
Loved Kirra singing and dancing around during an episode of potty training. She was so proud of herself for using the potty once. She kept calling it her "special day" and was singing a little song as she danced around.
"It is my special day. I can do anything. I can pee on the potty. I love my Dad. I love my Mom. I love my brother. I love my sister."
To which Jaret responds, "You don't have a sister, Kirra. You are the sister."
And Kirra laughs and continues to sing about having a sister that she loves.
On St. Patrick's Day, the kids and I were wearing green. At supper we were asking Daddy why he wasn't wearing green and he said he wasn't Irish and thought that they should make a new holiday where he could wear blue. Kirra looked at him and said with a shrug and hands out to the side, "It's not blue day, Daddy. It is Patrick's Day!"
Kirra had her Dora suitcase out the other day. I asked her, "Kirra, why do you have your Dora suitcase upstairs?"
She looks at me as if to say, why wouldn't I and then proceeds to say, "I need to pack it."
"Why do you need to pack it? We aren't going anywhere."
Again, she kind of looks at me. Then Terry says, "Where are you going, Kirra?"
"Maui!"
Ahhh, if only. That is one girl who loves Maui, despite not liking the sand.
Love these beautiful children who bring so much joy into my life!
