The Essentials of Real Prayer:
-Be intentional
-Invite others to pray for you
-Prayer is about getting to know God - degree of intimacy with God and the experience of prayer
-Tell the Father the truth - reveal the heaviness on your hearts - He knows it anyway but be real with yourself and passionately pour out to Him
-Refuse to quit - persist in your prayer life
-Good intentions aren't enough - need to follow through as prayer is where battles in our life are fought
Pastor Trigg asked us if we had found our Gethsemane? We all need a Gethsemane where we can go to pray and "Be Still" before God and spend time in His word as we get to know Him intimately. This spoke to me as I know I need to not just find the time but make the time to go deeper.
This morning after Terry and Jaret left for Nakiska for ski lessons, I took that time to spend in His words and reflecting. It was wonderful! And what made it even better was Kirra cuddling up on my lap as I sat at the computer while I did some of my devotions. One of my devotions from the Girlfriends in God website included a song that Kirra and I listened to over and over. I encourage you to read the devotion and listen to the song. It is a message that is perfect with Easter approaching:

Words from another devotion that gave me hope this morning, "God is arranging and re-arranging our lives in accordance with His will. Step-by-step, day-by-day, and with each circumstance we face. He is constructing a dwelling place for His Presence within us."
