Annual Christmas Dinner with Tysdal's

Saturday Night was date night with the Tysdal's to enjoy our annual Christmas Dinner. Although I say annual as we have done it for a number of years but we missed last year due to sickness. And as a result, I still haven't eaten at Teatro's. This year we chose a newer restaurant in Bowness called NOtaBLE. Head Chef Michael Noble is a well known Iron Chef and has won many accolades. This restaurant is cozy and trendy and the food was delicious. I feel that writing this blog entry I should touch on everything we ate and become a food critic - lol! I will mention that the wine was great and we started drinking it while waiting for over an hour for a table; being the busiest night of the year for Christmas gatherings, we did not get a reservation. But, we didn't mind the wait as it allowed us to visit and enjoy the wine. Or, did I already mention the wine?!
Appetizers were yummy, especially the Crispy potato rolls, rotisserie pork, JalapeƱo Jack cheese with spicy Ranch dip, and salsa verde. Terry ordered the Butter-poached Queen Charlotte sablefish, lobster, sweet pea and tarragon nage. He was a little disappointed in it, especially the size of the portion he received. It would have made a better appetizer than meal. However, Mark enjoyed his lamb and Shea and I enjoyed our steaks. Don't often go wrong with a steak, unless you ask them to cook it to well done like Shea always does. I am sure that Micheal Noble was cringing at cooking the steak like that. So, our evening out was very enjoyable, from the wine, to the food, to the night away from the kids with great company. Already thinking of where we will go next year...perhaps Norway if our dear friends end up moving there, time will tell?!
