Jaret Turns SIX!

The time really does go by so quickly. I think I have said that many times before but it is so true. I love birthdays and celebrating them. And so does Jaret, it seems. Right after his birthday he was already talking about turning seven and what theme he wants next year for his birthday. I am thankful that he values these special moments and the opportunity to spend time with family and friends.

My parents were here for the weekend, arriving on Thursday night but leaving very early on Sunday morning in order to make it back in time for the Rider game (which they lost). Friday we took it fairly easy with a trip to Market Mall in the afternoon. Friday evening we met my Auntie Lee for supper and celebrated the October birthdays in the family - my Dad's (9th), Jaret's (16th), and Terry's (26th). Jaret thought we should go to Montanna's since that is his favourite place to celebrate birthdays, but he got out voted as we chose Catcus Club. Since having supper there, Jaret has been asking when we can go back. It was a fun evening full of visiting and a delicious meal. Saturday we spent a bit of time out at Cross Iron Mills. While there, I decided to buy Kirra some 'big girl underwear' which she has yet to wear, properly anyway. And no, she did not learn to wear them that way from her mom.

Sunday afternoon was Jaret's Birthday Party. He had chosen a Pirate theme and we had lots of fun with it. He invited a number of friends but chose to not invite friends from school this year since he got to celebrate his birthday at school with cupcakes. Jaret favourite part of his birthday was playing Pin the Patch on the Pirate and having sword fights. But another favourite was eating the cake. I guess the whole birthday was pretty much his favourite.

The end of Jaret's birthday was spent looking at Jaret's scrapbook from his first year. I actually haven't scrapbooked since but Jaret loves seeing pictures of when he was a baby. I really need to do a digital scrapbook for at least Kirra's first year.

Enjoy the photos!
